Brief Bio
Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat (Fellow of IEEE and Fellow of SCS) is an internationally well-known academic/researcher/scientist. He received his Ph.D. and M. S. degrees in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA. Dr. Obaidat is currently the Chair and Full Professor of Computer and Information Science at Fordham University, NY, USA. He has received extensive research funding and has published Forty Six (46) books and over Six Hundreds and Eighty (680) refereed technical articles in scholarly international journals and proceedings of international
conferences, and currently working on three more books. Mohammad is the Editor-in-Chief of the Wiley International Journal of Communication Systems, the FTRA Journal of Convergence and the KSIP Journal of Information Processing. He is also an Editor of IEEE Wireless Communications. He is now an editor of the Wiley Security and Communication Networks Journal, Journal of Networks, International Journal of Information Technology, Communications and Convergence, IJITCC, Inderscience. Prof. Obaidat is an associate editor/editorial board member of seven other refereed scholarly journals. He has guest edited numerous special issues of scholarly journals. Obaidat has served as the steering committee chair, advisory Committee Chair and program chair of numerous international conferences.

Brief Bio
Dr.habil.sc.ing. Yuri Merkuryev is a professor, head of the department of Modeling and Simulation at Riga Technical University (RTU, Latvia). He obtained the Dr.sc.ing. degree in System Identification in 1982, and Dr.habil.sc.ing. degree in Systems Simulation in 1997, both from Riga Technical University. His professional interests include modeling and simulation of complex systems, methodology of discrete-event simulation, supply chain simulation and management, as well as education in the areas of simulation and logistics management.
Professor Merkuryev is well experienced in performing research projects a
t both international and national levels. In particular, he coordinated the EC-financed international project "Integrated Intelligent Platform for Monitoring the Cross-Border Natural-Technological Systems" (2012-2014, within the ELRI Research Program of the European Commission). His research results were listed among Top Latvian Research Achievements in 2008, 2011 and 2014.
Professor Merkuryev is RTU director for the Master study program "Logistics and Supply Chain Management", as well as coordinator of the specialization "Industrial Logistics Management" within the RTU Master study program "Information Technology". He teaches courses in the areas of discrete-event systems simulation (both introductory and advanced) and supply chain management. He delivered guest lectures and invited courses at many universities in Europe, Asia and North America. Prof. Merkuryev promoted 8 Doctoral and 78 Master theses.
Professor Merkuryev regularly participates at international conferences in the area of modeling and simulation. He gave invited speeches at a number of conferences, including AMS 2009 and 2012 (Indonesia), IMMOD 2009 (Sankt-Petersburg), WAMS 2010 (Brazil) and I3M 2011 (Italy). He is strongly involved into organization of M&S international conferences as well. For instance, he served as General Chair at ECMS 2005 and CICSyN 2015 conferences (Latvia); since 1998, he is regularly involved into organization of the annual HMS (Harbour, Maritime, & Multimodal Logistics Modelling and Simulation) conference; since 2011, he serves as general C-Chair of the annual I3M (International Multidisciplinary Modeling & Simulation Multiconference) conference.
Professor Merkuryev is full member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences, fellow of the European Academy for Industrial Management, president of Latvian Simulation Society, board member of the Federation of European Simulation Societies (EUROSIM), senior member of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS), senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Chartered Fellow of British Computer Society, FBCS CITP, as well as member of Liophant Simulation (Italy) and the Simulation Team Excellence Network in M&S. He is an associate editor of "Simulation: Transactions of The Society for Modeling and Simulation International", and editorial board member of "International Journal of Simulation and Process Modeling". He authors more than 330 scientific publications, including 7 books and 6 textbooks.

Brief Bio
Tuncer Ören is a professor emeritus of Computer Science at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He has been involved with simulation since 1965. His research interests include: (1) advancing modeling and simulation methodologies; (2) agent-directed simulation (full synergy of agents and simulation); (3) agents for cognitive and emotive simulations including representations of human personality, emotions, emotional intelligence, understanding, sources of misunderstanding and conflict; (4) reliability, quality assurance, failure avoidance, and ethics; as well as (5) body of knowledge and (6) terminology of modeling si
mulation. He has over 540 publications –some translated in Chinese, German and Turkish– including 50 books and proceedings. He has contributed to over 500 conferences and seminars held in 40 countries. He has been keynote or invited speaker, or honorary chair in about half of them. Dr. Ören has been recognized, by IBM Canada, as a pioneer of computing in Canada. He received "Information Age Award" from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and an Honor Award from the Language Association of Turkey. He was inducted to SCS Modeling and Simulation Hall of Fame –Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a distinguished lecturer, a fellow as well as AVP for ethics of SCS. A book about him was edited by L. Yilmaz in 2015 (Concepts and Methodologies for Modeling and Simulation: A Tribute to Tuncer Ören, Springer.)
