Brief Bio
Bao Nguyen is a Senior Scientist at Defence R&D Canada. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Ottawa. Dr. Nguyen obtained his PhD in theoretical particle physics from McGill University in 1993. He spent his undergraduate studies in physics and mathematics at Caltech and the University of Ottawa. Professor Nguyen has received a number of awards including a 2015 Koopman Prize from INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences) for the outstanding military operations research paper published in the previous year. His interests lie in unmanned systems, combinatorial optimization, stochastic processes and discrete mathematics.

SCOPE

The military and defense domains offer a wide spectrum of challenging problems which require modelling & simulation.  We invite original papers that will have an impact on military operations.  Topics include but are not limited to cyber defense, missile defense, search & rescue operations, search & detection operations, unmanned systems, war games or any unusual combinations of these.  This event will allow military & defense researchers to exchange ideas and opportunities to networking.

Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in any of the topics listed above.

PUBLICATIONS

After thorough reviewing by the special session program committee, all accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on digital support - and submitted for indexation by DBLP, Web of Science / Conference Proceedings Citation Index, EI and SCOPUS.
SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/) and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library
